SEA Talent Search is an academic assessment designed to encourage students to develop conceptual understanding, logical thinking, problem-solving skills and subject knowledge. Assessment With Purpose
Scholastic Excellence Assessment (SEA) is not designed as a rank-oriented examination. It is intended to help students, parents and schools understand where a student truly stands in conceptual learning, in accordance with their class level.
Every child has a different learning journey, with individual strengths, pace, curiosity and potential. SEA therefore focuses on the individual learner — identifying conceptual strengths, areas that need reinforcement, reasoning ability and the capacity to apply learning.

Concept Over Speed
Meaningful learning is not only about answering quickly. Students should be able to understand a concept, apply it in a new situation, reason through a problem and reach a logical solution.
SEA avoids making speed the primary measure of achievement and gives students an opportunity to demonstrate understanding, reasoning and application. In real-world learning and future careers, meaningful problem-solving depends on understanding, critical thinking and application — not simply on answering quickly.

Examination Procedure
The examination will be conducted at the participating school itself.
The school may conduct the examination on any mutually convenient working day, except Sundays and declared holidays.
Schools will receive the required examination material before the scheduled examination.
Students should follow the instructions provided on the question paper and answer sheet.
The school is requested to ensure a quiet and fair examination environment for all participating students.

SEA provides students with access to a wide variety of practice questions and practice sets through its website and mobile application, helping students become familiar with different question types and improve their preparation before the Talent Search Examination.

Year-Long Extended Subject Practice
For students who wish to access continuous, year-round practice beyond the Olympiad exam, an optional 365-day extended practice subscription is available across English, Math, Science and SST.
Rules & Regulations
Teacher Assistance
Teachers may help students understand or clarify the meaning of a question, where required. However, teachers are not permitted to write answers on behalf of students or assist them in answering the questions.
Answer Sheet Evaluation
Answer sheets will be evaluated according to the instructions applicable to the examination. For activity/colouring/drawing questions, attention may be given to neatness, line drawing, colouring within the given area, appropriate choice of colours, handwriting and presentation. Overwriting, excessive erasing and incorrect answers may result in deduction of marks wherever applicable.
Revaluation / Rechecking
Requests for revaluation or rechecking of answer sheets will not be entertained. Answer sheets will be evaluated as per the prescribed assessment process and will not be handed over to parents.
Fair Examination & Materials
Students are expected to complete the examination independently and follow all instructions. All examination material supplied by SEA should be handled carefully and used only for the purpose of conducting the examination.
